Kenton School: All different all equal

An Introduction from David Pearmain, the Headteacher of Kenton School.

Dear Parents, Guardians and Children,

Kenton is a remarkable school, where we make a serious effort to meet each child's needs, whatever his or her special gifts or talents. Kenton is now a national and local leader in education. We are a successful school with a fine reputation, oversubscribed in every year group. Our 2012 Ofsted inspection judged Kenton as good in all four categories:

  • the achievement of the students
  • their behaviour and safety
  • the quality of teaching and
  • the leadership and management of the school.

We have chosen to convert to academy status and we will to use the greater freedom to develop this will give, in order to move towards becoming "world class".

At Kenton we care very much about the students' results and qualifications, which are good and getting better all the time, but that is only part of the story, for our motto is, "All Different All Equal."

This includes many and varied opportunities for each child to develop his or her potential and personality in and out of the classroom. That is why enriching activities in the arts and sports are so important to us. Kenton is an Arts and Technology Specialist School, with Artsmark Gold and Sportsmark status. We are also designated as the lead school in the area for Gifted and Talented provision. The stunning facilities in our new building (opened in 2008) take our students' opportunities to an even higher level.

I am confident that you will want to join us and share in our success. Yours sincerely,

David Pearmain
