What is the course structure?
The components of the course build on each other to motivate students by helping them put what they have learned into practice and grow in confidence. Components include:
Explore the sector: Overview of the sector including what it is like to work in the sector and the essential skills needed.
Develop: Learn about what people need so they can do their jobs effectively including key knowledge; skills and behaviours and how to apply these to core areas of best practice.
Apply to a real-life scenario.
What will I study?
The BTEC Tech Award in Enterprise is to give students a practical introduction to life and work as an entrepreneur. Students will explore what it means to set up and run a business enterprise, as well as develop key skills and discover potential careers.
Throughout the programme, learners will have the opportunity to:
Develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for successful performance in working life
Develop their people, communication, planning and team working skills
Develop knowledge and understanding of the sector and gain valuable experience through practical participation in a range of activities.
How is the course assessed?
The BTEC Tech Award is a good foundation and provides the knowledge, understanding, skills for Level 2 learners to progress to: other level 2 vocational qualifications; apprenticeships and traineeships.
