What is the course structure?

English Literature offers learners the chance to study, over a two-year period, a variety of poetry, prose and drama from the English and American canon, engaging with criticism on a university-level. Learners develop a keen critical eye for Literature and develop their own reading to an academic level.

What will I study?

  • A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams

  • The Duchess of Malfi by John Webster

  • The Road by Cormac McCarthy

  • Hamlet by William Shakespeare

  • The poetry of Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes

  • The poetry of John Keats

  • Unseen poetry and prose from a variety of historical periods
