What is the course structure?

What will I study?

You will study proof, algebra and functions, trigonometry, geometry, sequences and series, numerical methods and calculus. The statistics element includes correlation and regression, discrete distributions and the normal distribution whilst the mechanics components cover elements of kinematics and dealing with forces. Increasingly all of these topics are applied to real world problems.

How is the course assessed?

The course is assessed through three final examinations at the end of Year 13.

These papers are equally weighted with two assessing Pure Mathematics, and one applied maths involving Statistics and Mechanics.

There is regular internal testing throughout the duration of the course.
