What is the course structure?

The course is a 12 unit (double award) consisting of six mandatory core units of which 2 are specialist choice and six optional units than can be chosen from a selection that will give an understanding of all types of Engineering.

What will I study?

Here is a selection of some units you will study:

 

  • Health and Safety in Engineering Workplace

  • Engineering Project

  • Mathematics for Engineering Technicians

  • Electrical and Electronic Principles

  • Engineering Secondary finishing Techniques and Processes

  • Communications for Engineering Technicians

  • Mechanical Principles and Applications

  • Computer Aided Drafting

 

There will be the opportunity to visit Engineering establishments to complement your studies whilst gaining actual Engineering experiences in an industrial setting.

How is the course assessed?

All units of work are internally assessed and externally verified through a portfolio of evidence for each unit.
