What is the course structure?

The course is made up of six units, two core units and six specialist units. The core units cover fundamental skills and the specialist units allow for more specific interests.

What will I study?​

Provisionally you will study:

 

  • Unit 1: Operation of Vehicle Chassis Systems

  • Unit 2: Vehicle Engine Principles, Operation, Service and Repair

  • Unit 3: Vehicle System Fault Diagnosis and Rectification

  • Unit 5: Application of Vehicle Science and Mathematics

  • Unit 6: Electrical and Electronic Principles for Vehicle Technology

  • Unit 12: Operation And Maintenance of Light Vehicle Transmission Systems

  • Unit 14: Light Vehicle Suspension, Steering and Braking Systems

How is the course assessed?

All of the units are assessed through internally assessed and externally verified portfolios of evidence for each of the six units.
