Kenton School is a vibrant and inclusive secondary school at the heart of the community in which we serve. With around 1800 students, we are amongst the largest schools in the North East. At Kenton we are passionate about providing the very best education possible for young people in our city, our region and nationally and our strong and committed team share our vision of ensuring all our students not only reach their potential but that they are confident, happy and resilient students who treat each other with compassion and respect.
We are seeking applicants for this new role providing emergency first aid to pupils as required. The role will involve seeking advice and contacting emergency services and parents/guardians, recording incidents in line with school procedures and ensuring that any related stocks and supplies are monitored and replenished.
The role will also involve supervision of students out of lessons to use toilet facilities, ensuring high standards of behaviour at all times, in addition to ensuring that any safeguarding or wellbeing concerns are reported in line with school procedures.
We are seeking candidates with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team but with minimal supervision, combined with the effective written and IT skills in order to ensure issues are recorded promptly and accurately. Candidates must be able to follow procedures to ensure first aid incidents are dealt with in line with these and any relevant training. A relevant first aid qualification would be desirable but is not essential as training will be provided.
In return, Kenton School offers fantastic developmental possibilities due to its size, facilities and a forward- thinking management and staff working together to offer the best available chances for our students.
This post does involve engaging in regulated activity as defined in Keeping Children Safe in Education 2021 and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (as amended 1975, 2013 and 2020).
If you feel you have the experience, skills and attributes to succeed as part of our team, you can visit our website www.kenton.newcastle.sch.uk or email us for an application pack at firstname.lastname@example.org.
