Team Leader – Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy


Teachers with QTS/QTLS: £25,714 to £41,604 pa

Teachers without QTS/QTLS: £18,169 to £28,735 pa

Plus Teaching and Learning Responsibility Allowance of £2,873 pa

(starting salary dependent upon experience), Required for January 2021

We pride ourselves in offering our students a broad and balanced curriculum and this includes offering both Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy at both Key Stage 4 and 5. At Key Stage 4, we offer a Level 2 Certificate in Hair and Beauty, where students are taught practical skills underpinned by theory lessons focusing on research skills, design brief skills and science knowledge. At Key Stage 5 we offer Level 3 technical diplomas in either Hairdressing or Beauty Therapy. These courses comprise of practical units, end point assessments and a final synoptic practical exam, and a theory curriculum running alongside with 2 external exams.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative and creative hair and beauty specialist to join our team as leading and developing the subject areas to achieve strong student outcomes. The post is open to both those with qualified teacher status and those with other relevant vocational qualifications. If you are the person we are looking for, your excellent subject knowledge and practical skills will be underpinned by a passion for teaching and the ability to apply a range of teaching and learning strategies. You will possess the ability to work effectively with all students, engaging them through exciting, yet challenging, lessons and embedding a culture of positive behaviour for learning. And, most importantly, you will be committed to our school ethos of ‘all different, all equal,’ instilling high expectations in all our students.

You will possess a flexible approach taking an active part in school life, such as attending parent evenings and open evenings. You will also be proactive in responding to the changes to practical subjects that are required due to Covid-19.
